Partner promotions underline A&O expansion plans

ALLEN & Overy LLP has announced 28 promotions to partner across 15 offices in 13 countries, confirming its ambitions for further global expansion.
This takes the total number of partners at Allen & Overy to over 500 for the first time, to 505 partners globally.
The year’s promotions, which become effective as of 1 May 2008, highlight Allen & Overy’s investment in its international network, with over 70 per cent of the new partners coming from outside London. One quarter of the new partners are also located in emerging market offices, such as Bangkok, Dubai, Moscow, Shanghai and Warsaw.
As well as a wide geographic spread, the promotions also cover Allen & Overy’s key market sectors with promotions across six different practice groups globally.
Senior partner Guy Beringer said: “This year’s promotions reflect our continued commitment to strategic investment in our international network. They will also maintain the regional diversification of our business and the broad spread of the firm across different areas of practice."
