Addleshaw Goddard promotes ten to legal-director role

ADDLESHAW GODDARD has promoted ten of its lawyers to the position of legal director, a role first introduced in the firm in 2002.
The legal directors, whose appointments take effect from 1 May 2008, will be based across the firm’s three offices in London, Leeds and Manchester. They are Paul Burney and Chris Cartwright (real estate); Paul Carney (pensions); Chris Drabble and Peter Jones (banking); Zoe Fahy (commercial); Robert Fais (commercial tax); Judith Harris (employment); Sonia McMahon (business support and restructuring); and Sean Williams (private capital).
Legal-director responsibilities include leading the firm’s work in a specific legal-practice area or taking on a key supervisory/leadership role for more junior fee earners, as well as managing the firm’s relationship with key clients. The latest promotions takes the number of legal directors in the firm to 36.
Managing partner Mark Jones said: “As a firm we have real confidence in our people and their ability to meet clients’ needs, to provide a high-quality service, and contribute strongly to the growth of the firm. We have promoted 19 people to senior positions within the last month, which clearly demonstrates our commitment to attracting, retaining and developing great people.”
