CC’s London lawyers in salary boost
Clifford Chance has announced that its London lawyers are to get a salary increase of around 15 per cent as well as bonuses of up to 40 per cent as part of a ‘total reward’ package.
From May 2007, a Clifford Chance associate with one year’s PQE will be paid £66,000, an increase of £6,000 from the current salary.
Individual bonuses are determined by an assessment of a lawyer’s work in terms of billable contribution, investment time – such as business-development activity or pro bono work – and quality of performance. The bonus system is offered from six months’ PQE, starting at 20 per cent of salary and rising to 40 per cent for those with four years’ + PQE.
The increases reflect the continued strong performance of the London office, the firm said. “We are confident that our total reward approach, combined with recent initiatives such as the introduction of career development partners and the senior associate position, enable us to offer a career that is very rewarding in both financial and developmental terms,” said London managing partner, Jeremy Sandelson.
